Register now and join us Wednesday\, May 4th for a special AFP Cape Fear Chapter meeting with New Hanover Community Endowment CEO & President\, William Buster\, and Board Chair\, Spence H. Broadhurst. \nNHCE was created with the focus of significantly improving our community by focusing on: \n\nEducation: Public primary\, secondary\, and post-secondary\nEquity: Health and social equity\nPublic safety\nCommunity development\n\nAs established leaders in our community’s non-profit sector\, this AFP meeting will help us learn how our organizations can assist the endowment in addressing the root challenges in these areas\, aiming for long-lasting and deeply impactful solutions in our community. \nNOTE: This meeting is about community collaboration and education. The AFP Board respectfully asks all attendees to refrain from openly making the case for your organization’s funding during the session. \nNHCE CEO and President William Buster\, a seasoned leader in philanthropy\, has dedicated his life’s work to improving the social determinants of health and quality of life for all people across the South.  Recently Senior Vice President of Impact with Dogwood Health Trust\, based in Asheville\, N.C\, Buster earned his bachelor’s from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University and went on to earn his Master of Arts in policy and practice of development from the University of New Hampshire and an executive education certificate in mastering negotiation from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. \nNHCE Board Chair\, Spence Broadhurst is the President of the Eastern North Carolina Region for First National Bank. In addition to coordinating Corporate and Business Banking and the overall business strategy in the Bank’s Eastern North Carolina Region\, he leads the integration of sales of Asset Based Lending\, Insurance\, Investment Real Estate\, Private Banking\, Retail Banking\, Treasury Management\, and Wealth Management professionals. \nParking for Harrelson Center \nSTREET PARKING OPTIONS \nParking is FREE on 5th Street behind the center.\nMetered two-hour spaces are available on Princess Street beside the center. These cost $1.50 an hour. Enforced Monday – Saturday 9:00 to 5:00 pm. Pay by Phone instructions are listed on each meter and on the city website. Machines also accept coins. \nCITY PARKING DECKS \nThere are two parking decks within three blocks of The Harrelson Center. The 1st 90 minutes are free. The cost is $1.00 an hour following that\, with a max charge of $8.00 a day. \nVISITOR SPACES AT THE CENTER \nWe have 10 visitor parking spaces at The Harrelson Center for first come\, first serve visitors. When entering the parking deck off of 4th Street\, take an immediate right and go to the end of the lane. The ten visitor spaces are marked on the left side.
