About Welcome Home Angel
Founded in 2007, Welcome Home Angel (WHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating accessible, functional, and joyful living spaces for individuals and families across the lifespan. Through our ABLE Pathway programs — AdaptAble, AccessAble, and the forthcoming CapAble — WHA transforms homes into environments that support independence, dignity, and quality of life for the whole family. We help families be families.
Position Summary
The Advancement Officer is a frontline execution role responsible for carrying out WHA’s fund development activities, coordinating grant writing and reporting, and supporting communications and outreach. This position works directly with donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community contacts to build relationships, execute cultivation and stewardship activities, and advance WHA’s giving programs — including the ABLE Pathway, Angel Ambassador monthly giving community, and Service Partner corporate program.
This is a nonexempt, hourly position. Strategic direction is provided by the CEO. Hours beyond 40 per week require prior supervisor approval.
Working Geniuses at WHA
Welcome Home Angel uses The 6 Working Geniuses framework to help staff and volunteers discover their natural gifts and thrive in their work. The Advancement Officer role draws most heavily on Enablement — anticipating needs and supporting others throughout a process — and Galvanizing — energizing and mobilizing donors, partners, and volunteers toward action. While WHA does not require the assessment to apply, it is a useful lens for understanding this role. Learn more at workinggenius.com.
