The 2020 National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Awards Celebration for our local Association of Fundraising Professionals Cape Fear Chapter is coming soon! 

The 2020 National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Awards Celebration for our local Association of Fundraising Professionals Cape Fear Chapter in November is the Chapter’s main fundraising event. Funds raised through NPD will provide local members the opportunity to have deeper and more meaningful professional development opportunities, such as support for professional certification and continuing education scholarships.

Because of CDC guidelines, this year’s NPD event will be different. Our Cape Fear Chapter will record 3-minute videos for each award category, announcing the award winners. These videos will be released in an email to our Chapter and on social media during the week of November 15. These videos will include an interview of the nominator and nominee, honoring the nominee’s accomplishments in philanthropy.”

Funds raised through NPD, our chapter’s main fundraising event each year, will provide local members the opportunity to have deeper and more meaningful professional development opportunities, such as support for professional certification and continuing education scholarships. We believe that this education, sharing of best practices, and networking, helps all of us become better fundraisers, which in turn allows us to make a greater impact in our community. Our AFP Chapter members work for a diverse list of nonprofits in the Cape Fear Region such as Good Shepherd Center, Nourish NC, the Food Bank, WHQR, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, Carousel Center, GLOW Academy, American Red Cross, and more.
