Position: Part-Time Contract Professional Fundraiser

Reports to: Cape Fear Chorale board president

Timeframe: 1 year Contract renewable upon mutual agreement

Objective: Cape Fear Chorale, Inc. is seeking a part-time, professional fundraiser to develop and implement a well-structured fundraising program. The ideal candidate will be part of our fund-raising team helping the board develop effective asking strategies, methods, creating a comprehensive fundraising plan and timeline, and organize necessary action steps in collaboration with the board.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy in collaboration with the board, including annual campaign, events, major donor engagement, and grant writing
  • Collaborate with social media coordinator to plan and implement online fundraising strategies as part of the fundraising plan
  • Identify donors, foundations, and corporations as potential funders
  • Assist the board and volunteers to implement fundraising events
  • Provide regular reports on fundraising progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the board and staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising required, 3+ years in professional setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices and software
  • Experience in approaching organizations and individuals that provide funding to nonprofits.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation: $20-$35/hr. depending on experience. Time commitment of 5-15 hours a week.
